JAMMU, Jan 28: The first phase of Intensified Pulse Police Immunization (IPPI) programme commenced across the Jammu and Kashmir. In the first phase today, the polio drops were administered to 19,68,183 children at 16,99,709 booths across the State thereby achieving the target of 86.36 per cent.
JAMMU: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat kick started the first round of IPPI programme from Government Hospital Sarwal by administering polio drops to children. Minister of State for Health and Medical Education, Asiea Naqash and Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education Dr Pawan Kotwal were also present on the occasion. A model pulse polio camp was organized by the Department of Family Welfare in the premises of Sarwal Hospital, wherein hundreds of children below the age of 5 years were administered the doses of pulse polio. Among others present were Director Family Welfare, J&K, Dr Sameer Mattoo, Mission Director, NHM, Dr Mohan Singh, Director Health Services, Jammu, Dr Gurjeet Singh Soodan, Mission Director, ICDS, Sofi, Deputy Director Health (HQs), Dr Chander Prakash, CMO Jammu, Dr Sanjay Turki, Medical Superintendent, Sarwal Hospital, Dr Renu Sharma, Deputy Medical Superintendent, Dr Rajiv Sharma, doctors and staff of Sarwal Hospital, besides prominent citizens and members of social organizations.
SAMBA: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga today launched the IPPI programme by administering vaccines to children at Community Health Centre Vijaypur. Among others, CMO Samba Rajinder Samyal, BMO Dr Lakhvinder Singh, Medical Officer Dr Soami, Community Health Officer Parvinderjeet Kour and other officers from the concerned departments were present on the occasion. IPPI programme was launched by State President BJP SC Morcha and MLA Samba Dr Devinder kumar Manyal at District Hospital Samba in presence of Medical Superintendent, large number of doctors and para-medics and Mandal President Samba BJP Sanjeev.
KATHUA: Deputy Commissioner Rohit Khajuria kick-started IPPI programme in the district by administering polio drops to the children here at Govt. Mahatma Gandhi Child and Maternity Hospital Kathua. On the occasion, CMO Kathua, Deputy CMO, Paramedic staff and large number of people were also present.
REASI: Over 50,000 children in the age group 0-5 years were administered polio drops in Pulse Polio Immunization phase-1 programme, here today. The programme was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner Prasanna Ramaswamy G who along with CMO Dr LD Bhagat and other doctors administered polio drops to children at District Hospital here.
RAJOURI: The first round of pulse polio programme was launched today in block Darhal. Convener, Senior Citizen Forum, Darhal Mohammad Iqbal launched the programme in presence of BMO Darhal Dr Iqbal Malik, SHO Darhal, senior citizens and PRI members.
POONCH: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Tariq Ahmad Zargar in presence of Chief Medical Officer, Dr Mumtaz Bhatti launched three day pulse polio immunization drive by administering oral polio vaccine to an infant  at Raja Sukhdev Singh District Hospital here. Sub Divisional Magistrate Mendhar Rahual Yadav inaugurated 3-day IPPI programme at Sub District Hospital Mendhar in presence of Block Medical Officer Mendhar Dr Parvaiz Ahmed Khan and other functionaries of the Health Department.
DODA: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bhawani Rakwal in presence of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Wajid Ali Najar inaugurated IPPI programme at OPD Block New District Hospital here. At Tehsil Headquarter Thathri, the first round of the IPPI programme was inaugurated by SDM Thathri Mohammad Anwar Banday along with Block Medical Officer (BMO) Thathri Dr SL Manhas and other functionaries of the Health Department.
KISHTWAR: IPPI programme was inaugurated by Additional Development Commissioner, Kishori Lal sharma in presence of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Abdul Majeed at District Hospital Kishtwar.
SRINAGAR: Deputy Commissioner Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah launched the IPPI programme in the district at the Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial (JLNM) Hospital at Rainawari. Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman, CMO Srinagar, Dr Dildar Ahmad Mir, District Health Officer, Dr Anjum Qadri, and District Immunization Officer, Dr Masarat Jabeen, were also present on the occasion.
BARAMULLA: District Development Commissioner, Dr Nassir Ahmad Naqash accompanied by CMO Baramulla, Dr Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo inaugurated the pulse polio immunization drive by administering oral polio vaccine to a newborn baby at the District Hospital here. Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Jozi Bashir, Deputy Medical Superintended, District Immunization Officer, DMEIO, and other officials were present on the occasion.
ANANTNAG: Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Younis Malik inaugurated the anti-polio drive at Maternity and Child Care Hospital (MCCH) here. CMO Anantnag Dr Syed Mirjee Indrabi, Deputy Superintendent MCCH and other officers of the Health Department were present on the occasion.  The IPPI programme was also held at SDH Bijbehara, SDH Shangus and Dooru and medical blocks of Achabal, Mattan, Verinag and Serigufwara.
KULGAM: Deputy Commissioner, Talat Parvaiz inaugurated the IPPI programme by giving anti-polio vaccines to newly-born babies in District Hospital here. The pulse polio immunization programme was also held at various medical blocks of Kulgam, Yaripora, DH Pora, Qazigund and Quimoh.
BUDGAM: The first phase of the anti-polio programme was kicked-off by District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Harun Malik today at ASYM, District Hospital, by administering vaccines to children below five years-of-age along with Chief Medical Officer, Budgam, Medical Superintendent and other hospital staff.
BANDIPORA: District Development Commissioner, Sajad Hussain inaugurated the first round of national pulse polio programme in the district today. He administered the anti-polio vaccine to two kids including one who was born previous night at the District Hospital here in presence of Deputy CMO Dr Parvaiza Kowsar, BMO Dr Syed Ur Rehman besides medical and para-medical staff.
PULWAMA: Chief Medical Officer, Dr Talat Jabeen inaugurated pulse polio immunization programme at District Old Hospital here.
GANDERBAL: Deputy Commissioner, Dr Piyush Singla kick-started the IPPI programme at District Hospital here by administering the anti-polio drops to a newborn baby.
SHOPIAN: The first round of IPPI programme was kick-started by District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz here by administering oral vaccines to newborns.
KUPWARA: District Development Commissioner, Khalid Jahangir launched the anti-polio drive at District Hospital here along with CMO Kupwara, BMO, Medical Superintendent and other hospital staff.
LEH: CEC, LAHDC Dr Sonam Dawa Lonpo has launched the anti polio campaign at SNM Hospital in presence of CMO Dr Motup Dorjey, Medical Superintendent SNM Hospital Dr Tsering Samphel, District Immunization Officer, Dr Tashi Namgyal and senior Doctors. Later, the CEC flagged off the mobile teams towards different places. At Khaltsi, the EC Agriculture, Tsering Wangdus launched the program at Sub District Hospital, whereas in Nyoma Sub Division, SDM Nyoma Tsering Motup has launched the programme by administering anti polio drops to a baby.
KARGIL: IPPI programme was today launched by Executive Councillor for Health Muhammad Hussain and Deputy Commissioner Haji Gulzar Hussain at District Hospital here. Vaccines were already dispatched to all blocks and snowbound areas of the district including Drass and Zanskar. CMO Kargil Dr Ibrahim Khan, Deputy CMO, Medical Superintendent Kargil, District Social Welfare Officer, Child Development Project Officer Kargil, Consultant Child Specialist besides doctors and paramedics were present on the occasion.
