PUC takes stock of repair works of LA

JAMMU, Jan 29: A meeting of Committee on Public Undertakings was held today under the chairmanship of MLA, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, to review the ongoing projects being executed by JKPCC besides the specific audit paras concerning the department.
The members Er Abdul Rashid, Ch Zalfkar, Bharat Bhushan, Dr Bashir Ahmad Shah (Veeri) and Aga Syeed Ahmad Rizvi were present in the meeting.
The Committee members took on spot review of the pace of ongoing restoration and renovation works being done in the Legislative Complex.
The Committee also took stock of the pace of works on the new Legislative Complex and stressed on timely completion of the project.
Threadbare discussion was also held on various CAG’s audit reports including Ganpat bridge. The Committee called for introducing third party monitoring for making the system more accountable and transparent.
The panel also stressed upon JKPCC to stick to the timelines of all the ongoing micro and macro projects of the State so that the benefit of the projects percolate to the masses well in time.
Earlier, Commissioner Secretary, PWD, Tanveer Jehan briefed the Committee about the audit paras and overall working of the Corporation.
