JAMMU, Jan 5: A public lecture was organized on the outstanding Shaivite Acharya and renowned saint of Kashmir Swami Ramji Maharaj here today.
The lecture was given by Opinder Ambardar a scholar and a student of Swami Ram Shaive Trika Ashram school of thought.
In his lecture Ambardar said the great Shaivite Philosopher, thinker and preacher of Kashmir Shaivism had inherited the Shaivite Trika tradition in a direct line of the spiritual succession of the famous Guru Shisha Parampara (tradition).
He said due to his extensive spiritual and learned disquisitions Swami Ramji had incredible mastery over all the philosophical and esoteric aspects of Kashmir Shaive Darshan. Swami Ramji Maharaj has rendered voluminous services in the revival of Kashmir Shaivism by propagating and teaching the Shaivite philosophy and scriptures among his devotees at a time when it was in a decline mode due to the onslaught of traumatic times.
The Shaivite Ashram established by Swami Ramji Maharaj himself at the down town Fatehkadal area of Srinagar on May 1884 is an oldest and celebrated Shaiva Philosophy teaching centre of Kashmir in contemporary times. The lecture was organized in connection with two day Jayanti celebrations of Swami Ji on Swami Ji’s 162nd Birth Anniversary being organised on January 7, at Swami Ram Shaive Trika Ashram, Swarn colony Gole Gujral Jammu.
The Jayanti celebrations will conclude with congregational Pooja archna and subsequent distribution of Prasad among the devotees.
