Sir,
This has reference to the birth anniversary of Last Ruler of J&K “Maharaja Hari Singh” which falls on 23 of September every year. There is a very old demand of people of Jammu Province to declare atleast a restricted holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh. But till date no action has been taken by the Government. In other states, one can see that there are so many things like roads, hospitals, stadium, bazaars, bridges etc in the name of their past rulers. But it is seldom seen in J&K. So it is duty of Govt to make this day a memorable one by declaring a public holiday.
