PSA apprises Hirdesh Kumar about difficulties of private schools

JAMMU, Feb 28: A deputation of executive members of central body of J&K Private Schools Association along with representatives of all District heads from Jammu Province called on Hirdesh Kumar Singh, Commissioner/Secretary School Education Department and apprised him about the difficulties due to delay in recognition on the basis of affiliation by School Education Department.
General Secretary of the Association, Ajay Gupta briefed the Commissioner/Secretary that School Education Department granted recognition / extension on the basis of affiliation vide Government order no. 313 Edu of 2019 dt 03/10 /19 in favour of( 58+ 11= 69 only) High / Higher Secondary institutions of Jammu Division after a lapse of more than one year. Most of the private schools which are granted affiliation by the State Affiliation Committee since January 2019 are still deprived of recognition / extension and this delay in recognition on the basis of affiliation by the department will create problems for the private schools by the CEOs during the confirmation of result for the Academic Session 2019-20 (Winter/Summer Zone) as done in the preceding years, he elaborated.
Gupta also brought in the notice of Hirdesh Kumar repercussion due to the non availability of Chairman, Fee Fixation Committee whose tenure had lapsed in July 2019 as all low budget private schools are in a fix what to do and what not to do for the approval/ enhancement of fee for new academic session 2020-21.
Members present in the meeting demanded immediate recognition / extension on the basis of affiliation before closer of academic session 2019 -20. They also appealed for the appointment of a visionary Chairman, Fee Fixation Committee to save this venture from harassment and exploitation at the hands of administration and parents.
Commissioner/Secretary listened to the members patiently and assured to settle all highlighted demands within couple of days. The deputation comprised of Ajay Singh (Reasi), Sanjeev Luthra (Jammu), Sat Paul Manstra (Kathua), Mohd Latief, Rachh Pal Singh, Naresh Kumar, Ragubir Singh, Malar Singh, Pardeep Kumar, Rajeev Singh, Lavanya Khular, Chain Singh, Davinder Singh, Surinder Gupta, Rajesh Gupta and others.
