UDHAMPUR, July 24: SSP Railways, Katra, Ranjit Singh Sambyal, today inaugurated the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network System (CCTNS) Laboratory at police station GRP Udhampur.
With the inauguration of this lab, Udhampur, has become 2nd police station after GRP Katra to be linked with CCTNS, a nation-wide online tracking system which is connected to MHA, NCRB New Delhi and capitals of all States and Union Territories of the country.
While speaking on the occasion, SSP railways, Katra, said that as a part of the national e-governance plan, this is a good step to achieve objectives such as reaching out to the public in quick and transparent manner, enhance the working capability of the Police Department, besides improving the law and order.
He said that this CCTNS will facilitate the people in lodging online/offline complaints at these police stations. SDPO Railways Udhampur, SHO, police station GRP Udhampur and other officers of GRP Udhampur were also present on the occasion.
