PRP for extra efforts to tackle growing unemployment

SRINAGAR, Nov 13: Peoples Republican Party (PRP) in its meeting here today held under the chairmanship of its president Mir Ghulam Rasool said that people of State have suffered a lot during 26 year long turmoil and Government of India should generously help them to come out of the present situation.
While commenting on the recent 80,000 crore package announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the State, Mir said that extra efforts and steps needed to be taken to tackle the growing unemployment problem as about six lakh youth are without job in the State.
He said the State Government is not in a position to tackle this problem without the GOI’s help and support. Creating employment opportunities for the youth will relieve them of the desperation and their energy can be utilized for the welfare of the people of the State.
Mir said that in view of the loss suffered by flood hit people the amount kept for their relief is not sufficient. He said the people of the State had also expectations that Centre will return power projects to the State to boost its economy which is in doldrums. Besides, the Centre should provide full support to the State in construction of more power projects as J&K has a potential of generating over 20000 mw of power.
Expressing concern over some unpleasant incidents in the country which took place in recent past Mir said this does not augur well for a secular country like India. G A Hamdarad, Mr War and other senior leaders of the party attended the meeting.
