‘Provide vaccination to private hospitals for speedy inoculation’

JAMMU, May 13: Demanding intensification of vaccination drive in the UT of J&K where the alarming rise has caused a great panic among the people, Pankaj Kohli, a social activist has appealed the Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha and Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education, Atul Duloo to provide vaccination to private hospitals and nursing homes to decrease the rush in the vaccination centers run by the Government.
In a statement issued here, today he said there is a lot of rush on vaccination centers in the Jammu region and this can lead to spread of COVID further as no proper social distancing is made on these centers. He said in comparison to that the people who could afford to pay charges for vaccination be allowed to get inoculated at private hospitals and nursing homes.
He said the people who had already been vaccinated first dose at private hospitals after getting message for second dose where told at private hospitals that they have no supply which is totally unfortunate. He urged Government to ensure supply of vaccines at these hospitals.
