AKHNOOR, Nov 13: Senior Congress leader and former Minister Madan Lal Sharma, while addressing a series of public meetings at Chak Sikander, Bandwal, Bandwal Colony, Mandiwala, Rattanpur Potha in Akhnoor Constituency said that IB (International Border) from Kona to Kathua deserves to be included under RBA (Reserve Backward Area) category and assured that if Cong is voted to power, it will give RBA status to Border Inhabitants who are regularly facing the brunt of border fury.
Justifying his stance Mr. Sharma said that border people usually get displaced from their houses and the education of their children, their livelihood and other activities badly suffer because of which they are remained backward even after many years of Independence.
Ex-MP appealed the people to vote in favour of Sham Lal Sharma who is a strong voice of Jammu region and in view of anti Jammu and communal sentiments of some forces it is must that leaders like Sham Lal Sharma are voted back to power to resist such forces and get due share of Jammu.
Kuldeep Raj Verma, Vice Chairman OBC also addressed the people and appealed to cast their precious vote in favour of Sham Lal Sharma for the development he has done in Akhnoor constituency.
Prominent among others spoke on the occasion includes Mangu Ram Sharma, president Brahman Sabha Akhnoor, Vijay Kumar, Babu Ram Sarpanch Pawan Kumar, Brita Ram, Kali Dass, Bushan Lal, Sham Choudhary, Ram Lal Sharma, Major Bral, Panch Madan Lal and Swaran Singh.
