Sikh organisations holding a protest demonstration against acquittal of main accused in 1984 riots.

JAMMU, May 1: To lodge protest against acquittal of main culprits in 1984 anti-Sikh riots in Delhi, various organizations held separate demonstrations and torched effigies of the Congress-led UPA Government.
Members of various Sikh organizations and general Sikh Sangat from Gurdwara Digiana Ashram Jammu held a protest demonstration and blocked  Jammu-Pathankote National Highway, here today.
Led by Sudershan Singh Wazir, president of Sikh United Front, the protesters raised slogans against the UPA Government and for  justice to victims of the 1984.
Those who participated in the protest, included S Mohinder Singh, Harjit Singh, Paranjit Singh, Narbir Singh, Gajjan Singh, Avtar Singh Khalsa, Ramneek Singh Bijral, Kapoor Singh Dutta, Surjit Singh Kukoo, Kultar Singh, Karam Singh and others.
They demanded that Sajjan Kumar and other main culprits in the case should have been hanged for providing justice to the victims of 1984 and Sikh community and general.  They also announced to approach Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh,  Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh  for seeking justice.
The activists of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena Jammu Kashmir, led by Ashok Gupta, also took out a procession in protest against acquittal of main accused in anti-Sikh riots in 1984.They accused the UPA Government of treachery and injustice with the Sikh community.
