SAMBA, Aug 22: After the body of a girl student from Sumb block near here was found from Samrala in Ludhiana late on Saturday night, the family members along with students and others on Monday protested against the police administration and blocked Jammu-Pathankot National Highway (NH).

The protesters reached SIDCO Chowk in the town with the body and started demanding a CBI probe into death of the college going girl.
The protesters said had the police acted in time, the girl would have been saved.
After Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta reached the spot and assured a probe into the incident and strict action against whoever found guilty, the protesters dispersed.
Father of the deceased girl claimed that when he reached Police Station Samba on Saturday night to register missing complaint for her daughter, the cops mocked at him and said their wireless system was not working.
Relatives of the deceased informed that on Sunday morning they got a call from Punjab Railway Police from Ludhiana that body of the girl was found and the family left for Ludhiana.
After post-mortem the body was given to relatives for last rites but they started protest.
The deceased was cremated in afternoon today.
