POONCH/ RAJOURI, July 4: The people from Poonch and Rajouri today held protest demonstration against the premature transfer of concerned Deputy Commissioners.
Reports said the people from Poonch city, Mendhar town and Sanai village in Poonch district held protest against the transfer of DC Poonch Ajaz Ahmed Asad from Poonch to Rajouri. The people claimed that he was shifted just after three months and people of the area were happy with his performance. At Sanai and Mendhar the people also blocked road and disrupted movement of traffic to lodge their protest.
In Rajouri, the people held protest demonstration near DC office and then they moved to the Gujjar Mandi Chowk and then blocked road near Abdullah bridge and disrupted movement of traffic. The people were protesting against the shifting of DC Rajouri, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary. They said that Dr Shahid was doing very well and he was ensuring good development of the town and other areas which was not witnessed since long.
They urged upon the Governor administration to retain him there for at least six more months so that at least road widening project could be completed during his tenure and all the bottle necks in Rajouri area cleared.
