JAMMU, Aug 26: A protest demonstration was organized by the residents of Sainik Colony today in the area to protest against the power crisis which was the result of breaking down of transformer. The demonstration was led by Aseem Gupta, publicity secretary State BJP and Prabhari for Samba district and Kulbir Singh Sambyal, State Executive Member BJP.
Addressing the protestors Aseem Gupta said that the people of the area are suffering a lot due to breakdown of power transformer and the authorities have failed to replace the same for a week now.
He said the residents of the area approached the concerned authorities number of times but to no avail and even the Executive Engineer did not bother to pick up the phone.
He said the PDD authorities have made the life of people miserable due to their callousness. He accused the local MLA of his failure in redressing the problem of the masses.
Gupta said that NC-Congress coalition has failed to provide the basic amenities to the people and power crisis has led to water scarcity also.
He said in view of failure of Government to fulfill the basic needs of the people it should resign. Y S Jamwal, Rajesh Gupta, Satpal Singh, Dr Sukhbir, Kalian Singh and others also addressed the demonstration.
