MENDHAR, Apr 28: The people from Galuta area today held protest demonstration and blocked Mendhar-Surankote road for about three hours.
The people from Sudan Mohalla, Galuta and adjoining hamlets came out on the road at around 9 am and started protest demonstration at Sara Wali Bhati. They were shouting slogans against R&B authorities for the worst condition of Mendhar-Surankote road and failure of water supply to the area for the last one month. They raised barricades on the road and held strong protest.
They were shouting loud slogans against R&B authorities for the pitiable condition of this 21 km road and failure of water supply to Sudan Mohalla at Galuta. Later, with the intervention of SDPO Mendhar Shahid Nahim and AEE, PHE the people lifted dharna. The movement of vehicles remained stalled for about three hours on this road.
