MENDHAR, Dec 7: The people from Harmutta and adjoining hamlets today held strong protest demonstration against PHE authorities and blocked Mendhar-Surankote road for more than two hours.
The people were alleging scarcity of water in the area for the last two weeks and neglect of PHE pipes laying work in Dumi areas. The people raised barricades on this road at Harmutta and stalled the movement of vehicles.
They were raising slogans against PHE authorities Mendhar and Poonch. Later, SHO Gursai and AEE PHE Mendhar arrived at the spot. They talked to the people and tried to convince them. On the assurance of AEE and SHO the people lifted dharna and allowed movement of the traffic.
