SRINAGAR, Nov 14: Protests today broke out in Langate after an 11-year-old girl was today crushed to death by a vehicle at Ganapora village in Kupwara.
Farhat Manzoor daughter of Manzoor Ahmad Rather, died on the spot when the vehicle hit her near Gunpora bus stop on Handwara -Baramulla highway.
The vehicle that hit the girl has been seized. Agitated over the death, residents poured on the Kupwara-Baramulla Highway to register protest.
The police official said they placed the body of the girl on the road and are demanding the arrest of the driver.
A police spokesman said an FIR 83/2014 has been registered and investigation has been started in the accident.
