RAJOURI, Sept 27: People from Nerojal and Dudasan Bhalla area today held protest and blocked Rajouri-Thannamandi road in protest against the alleged thrashing of a police personnel of the village in Jawahar Nagar area of Rajouri by some miscreants last night.
The villagers raised barricades on Thannamandi road and staged dharna. They disrupted the movement of vehicles for about two hours and were demanding arrest of the people who beaten up Constable, Abdul Hamid of Nerojal. They alleged that Hamid was coming with two buffaloes for his home on foot and he was stopped and beaten up by some miscreants in Rajouri. They demanded that action be taken against the attackers.
Later, Tehsildar and SHO Thannamandi reached the spot and pacified the agitating villagers and assured action in this regard. Then the villagers allowed movement of vehicles.
