Protest in Khour against water crisis

AKHNOOR, Aug 6: The people from Bardoh village in Khour today staged protest demonstration against the water shortage.
The local villagers along with women with their empty pots assembled on the road leading to Khour Tehsil headquarters and staged protest against the PHE authorities for their failure to provide adequate drinking water to the people. The locals were also joined by the BJYM activists including Suresh Sharma, District general secretary Akhnoor Unit. They were shouting slogans against the local administration and PHE authorities.
The locals alleged that due to the negligence of the PHE/ Jal Shakti Department, the people of Bardoh village are unable to receive enough drinking water from new tubewell during last three years. The mater was taken up with the concered authorities several times but no improvement was witnessed in the supply position. Now, for the last 15 days there is no water supply to the area. They sought the intervention of Chief Engineer PHE Jammu into the matter.
