RAJOURI, May 4: The people from Manjakot area continued their protest -dharna at the town, in district Rajouri on the 8th consecutive day today.
They are demanding setting up of Govt Degree College (GDC) and sanctioning of the post of Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) for Manjakot. These people also held protest demonstration on Rajouri-Poonch highway at Manjakot and disrupted the movement of traffic there for about half an hour. They said that due to political reasons this area has been deprived of Degree College. Moreover, when most of the tehsils in the district have been upgraded and post of ACDs have been created there recently, Manjakot has been neglected. They warned to intensify their agitation.
Later, Addl SP Rajouri and Assistant Commissioner Revenue went there on the spot and disclosed that DC Rajouri has already taken up their issue with the higher authorities. They asked people to give at least one month time to the administration. The people cleared the road but resolved to continue their agitation.
