Protest by Contractor Association of Estate Division enters 11th day

JAMMU, May 26: The protest by Contractor Association of Estate Division Jammu entered 11th day today.
Amid slogans, large number of contractors of Estate Division Jammu demanded release of their bills worth several crores with Estate Division Jammu and Treasury Officer, New Plot.
“We apprised about our issues to the higher authorities of Estates Department, but nothing has been done till date”, the protestors said.
“We have spent crores of rupees on maintenance and upgradation of the Ministers bunglows and kothies including Chief Minister bunglow and Government quarters in various colonies, but till date no funds have been released”, they alleged.
They stated that Government assured Contractor Association Estates Division Srinagar of releasing their pending bills, but no assurance to our Association, which is grave injustice with us.
They warned to continue their protest till their pending bills are not cleared by the Estates Department.
The protestors includes Mohinder Singh, Chairman of Contractor Association of Estate Division Jammu, Sanjay Soi, president, Raja Mehmood Ahmad, coordinator, Rajinder Kumar, vice president, Parveen Singh, general secretary, Sukhbinder Singh, spokesperson-cum-cashier, KD Singh, publicity secretary, Arun Sharma, general secretary, Sumit Sharma, Prem Singh and Diwakar Singh, members.
