POONCH, Aug 2: The people from Old Poonch locality held protest demonstration against the local PHE authorities for the power crisis.
The people from the area came out on Poonch- Rawalakote Road crossing at Old Poonch during the day and started protest demonstration. They alleged that motor of the PHE Pumping Station went out of order about six days back and it could not be repaired so far. The people of the area have been left to suffer. No alternative water supply through tankers is being ensured to the public. They blocked road for about an hour and disrupted movement of vehicles. Ravinder Bitta, Manmohan Singh and Sunil Kumar were leading the protest.
Later, SHO Poonch, Tehsildar and AEE PHE arrived there and they pacified the protesting people. Then the people cleared the road.
