Sir,
I am a college going student and on Aug. 17, I had to undergo a nightmarish experience . The entire road from near High Court right upto Amphalla crossing was blocked by some people . We, the students especially females too were not spared and no consideration was shown as we were asked to get down from our matadors and walk on foot sweating and exasperating .Like me small boys and girls going to schools and employees to their offices were made to commute facing difficulties and feeling the brunt of the fury of this sultry and humid weather.
My question to those who probably were agitating against power cuts is what purpose did such difficulty faced by people at their hands, especially college going students and office goers achieve. If they had to agitate, they should have chosen such methods which could have not put innocent people to trouble. No doubt really there is the power problem faced in many areas but blocking main roads, inter parallel sub roads and even lanes were putting people to tremendous hardships. Worst happened with those who were having emergency to rush to hospitals , serious patients, pregnant women and other similar cases.
I appeal to the people to agitate for their demands but not block roads. They should chose other methods like taking out protest processions in a disciplined way , go on hunger strikes, demonstrate in front of the offices of leaders and officers responsible for such problems but never block roads.
Lastly, the Police should identify such protesters and proceed against them legally for causing hardships to people .
Yours etc….
