RAJOURI, Dec 30: The people from Thanamandi town held strong protest demonstration against PDD and blocked road for over three hours today.
A large number of people from the town including Beopar Mandal members assembled a Shahdara Sharief Chowk and blocked Rajouri-Thanamandi- Bafliaz road for over three hours. They were shouting slogans against the PDD authorities for long power cuts. They alleged that electricity is given hardly for a few hours in the area while curtailment is unscheduled and for hours together. He people are facing lot of hardships and the functioning of many offices, banks etc is also affected. Even the BSNL services are also very poor and the ATMs hardly function. After Tehsildar Farooq Khan and SDPO Mujib-ul-Rehman gave assurance, the people lifted dharna.
