MENDHAR, Nov 7: People here today staged a protest demonstration against the delay in starting the road construction work.
The protesters said that the road from Mendhar to Bhimber Gali was a long pending demand but it remained in controversies and now it should be constructed soon.
They also claimed that the Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha during his Poonch visit had announced that construction work of the road would start soon.
A letter from BRO stating that the road will be against strategic norms of the defence triggered protest against BRO at Mendhar Bus Stand in which locals, taxi union members, political leaders, DDC members and BDC members raised slogans demanding start of work on the road.
