JAMMU, Mar 29: Principal Sessions Judge Reasi S R Gandhi has acquitted Reeta, who was facing trial in murder case of her husband Parshotam Kumar, as the prosecution failed to prove its case.
After hearing both the sides, court observed, “it is apt to note that the prosecution witnesses particularly the close relatives of the deceased have candidly admitted that the relationship between the accused and the deceased was cordial”.
“The motive to commit the crime is also not proved by the prosecution and court is also of the considered opinion that the prosecution has suppressed the genesis of the case. The incident does not appear to have happened in the manner in which the prosecution wants the court to believe it had happened”, Principal Sessions Judge said.
“The prosecution has failed to prove the charges against accused beyond all reasonable doubt as such the challan is dismissed and accused is acquitted”, the court said.
