NEW DELHI : There is no proposal of bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistan counterpart Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of United Nation General Assembly in New York this month end, Pakistan High Commissioner to New Delhi Abdul Basit said here today.
Interacting with mediapersons after addressing an Economic Forum here, he said, “There is no such proposal as of now”, when asked whether Mr Modi and Mr Sharif were slated to meet during the UN meet.
The Pakistani diplomat hoped that the talks between the two neighbours may resume in the coming days. “Let us hope that the talks between India & Pakistan resume sooner than later,” Mr Basit said.
About a question regarding the wanted terrorist in Mumbai attack, the Pakistan High commissioner said, “Hafiz Saeed is a Pakistan national, he is free to roam around. What’s the problem ? ”
