Proposal under consideration to upgrade PHC Achabal to SDH: Bali

JAMMU, Feb 7: Minister for Health and Medical Education,  Bali Bhagat today informed the Legislative Assembly that a proposal to up-grade PHC Achabal to Sub-District Hospital alongwith creation of additional 30 posts (11 doctors and 19 paramedics) has been taken up with the Finance Department for approval.
Replying to a question of legislator Gulzar Ahmad Wani, the Minister said the proposal was submitted to the Finance Department on January 29 2018.  He also informed that the Sub-Centre Hardtooru is functional.
Responding to further queries, the Minister said that a new hospital building for PHC Telwani is under execution at a project cost of Rs 1.94 crore against which Rs. 0.70 crore has been released till ending December 2017. The ground floor slab has been laid and further work is in progress, he added.
Giving details about the proposed up-gradation of health institutions, the  Health Minister said that the State Cabinet in its  decision No. 70/05/2017 dated 07.06.2017  has decided that only one health institution will be upgraded and developed as a “Model Health Institute”” in each constituency. He said that a proposal for establishment of 87 Model Health Centres in the State, one in each constituency including Sub-District Hospital Shangus as Model Health Centre was submitted to the Planning Development & Monitoring Department.
“The proposal has been returned with the advice to submit additional details like existing/deficit infrastructure, which are being obtained from the concerned Head of Departments and proposal shall be re-submitted to Planning Department very shortly”, the Minister added.
Dileep Singh Parihar, Mubarak Gul and Sukhnandan raised their supplementaries to the main question and called for immediate redressal of issues relating to their constituencies.
