Property of drug peddler attached

SRINAGAR, Sept 11: The police today attached property worth lakhs belonging to a notorious drug peddler in Pulwama.
According to the police, the attached property includes an under-construction single-storey house valued at approximately Rs 7.88 lakhs.
As per the police, the property belongs to the notorious drug peddler, Zahoor Ahmad Wani, son of Abdul Rehman Wani, and is located in Jindwall village, Tehsil and District Pulwama, under the NDPS Act of 1985.
“The said house was linked to case FIR No. 47/2023 under relevant sections of the law at Police Station Rajpora. The investigation proved that the said immovable property was constructed and used for illicit trafficking by the drug peddler,” police said.
By targeting and freezing the illegal assets of drug peddlers and smugglers involved in organized illegal narcotic trade, the police stated that they have dealt a severe blow to their criminal activities.
“Depriving these criminals of the proceeds derived from drug trafficking is an essential step in curbing their influence and crippling the drug trade in the valley.”
