JAMMU, Mar 26: Government today kept in abeyance the promotion of six officers of J&K Excise and Taxation (Gazetted) Service.
These officers are Ravi Chand Thakur, Pradeep Singh Chib, Anil Salgotra, Romin Ahmad, Kewal Kumar and Farukh Qazi. They were promoted by the Government on March 19, 2013 and their services were placed at the disposal of different departments for further postings.
In the meantime, some members of the J&K Excise and Taxation Service brought to the notice of Government the interim order of the High Court dated February 1, 2013 whereby the Court had directed the State not to make promotions on the basis of the seniority list challenged before it.
Now, in view of the High Court interim directions, General Administration Department today kept in abeyance the promotion of six officers of J&K Excise and Taxation Service. These officers have been directed to immediately report back to the Finance Department for further duties.
