Works worth Rs 2.5 cr to be taken up shortly

JAMMU, Oct 19: Former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA, Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta along with MLC, Vikram Randhawa today started blacktopping of the interior roads of Hajipura Patel Nagar in Gandhi Nagar Constituency which would be completed at the cost of Rs 63 lacs. This was long pending demand of the inhabitants of the area.
Executive Engineer, Public Works Department, S.A Wani and other officers of the Department were present on the occasion.
Gupta, while taking a dig on the previous regime of NC-Congress, said that the previous Government always thought of their personal benefits and gave a hard blow to the common man by indulging in corrupt practices and doing low quality work which made their lives miserable.
On the occasion, Kavinder Gupta said that there will be no compromise with quality of work and special care will be taken in its execution of different works so that the quality can be maintained and people don’t have to suffer in future. This can guarantee long life of the roads, he added.
He promised to make the Constituency a model one and providing good roads is the first step towards that.
Gupta appealed to the residents of the area that if they find anything mischievous in the execution of the work being started today, they can directly come and register complaint with him. Gupta directed the concerned department to complete the work in time and also take care that traffic doesn’t get interrupted due to this work.
Gupta said that the blacktopping works worth Rs 2.5 crore, which were approved but were not taken up for the execution due to the ULB polls process, would be completed in the shortest possible time with the main focus on the quality. He also added that work on Apsra Road and Vikram Chowk to Satwari road shall also be taken up for execution shortly.
Baldev Bilowria, Vinay Gupta, Jaideep Sharma, Pawan Singh, Harbans Choudhary were prominent among others who were present on the occasion.
