JAMMU, Sept 5: Suggesting Management students to adopt element of positivity in their lives to combat stress, former Head of Department Blood Bank, Government Medical College (GMC) and Yoga expert, Dr T R Raina today delivered a lecture on “Stress Management, Holistic Health and Science of Yoga at IMS Jammu.
He called upon the students to adopt Yoga, which is an ancient Indian philosophy of life based on scientific foundations, which will harmonizes physical, mental and spiritual well beings. He said that it brings out dormant potential of human being, positive change in attitude and behavior. The programme was organized by Global Helping Hand under the mission “GYAN KA ABHISHAKE” in collaboration with Alak Sahiba Trust Jammu at IMS Jammu, run by Jamwal Group of Educational Institutions.
Anil Bhatt, Bureau Chief of PTI Jammu, who was chief guest of the function, also spoke on the occasion on growing stress from the misuse of the social media platforms and new age digital life and digital society.
Jatin Bhat, Chairman of Global Helping Hand, stressed upon the young generation to work for better society devoid of stress and believe in service of the humanity, which gives immense pleasure of living.
Dr Raina said that in this era of advanced technology, industrialization, urbanization and fast life, everybody is under stress and strain which is the main cause for almost all the diseases especially the non-communicable disorders. He said the only way to get rid of day today’s stress and strain is the adaptation of Yogic way of life.
Sameer Bhat, founder of Helping Hand called upon students to improve their physical health by adopting the yogic way of life. Dr Rekha Gupta, Director IMS, Dr S K Gupta, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof J R Dhotra, organizer of the event and Divya Jamwal facilitated smooth conduct of the function with full support from IMS.
