Prof Neeru Sharma elected JUTA president

JAMMU, Oct 16: Prof Neeru Sharma of the Department of Home Science has been declared elected as new President of Jammu University Teachers Association (JUTA).
She along with Dr Sikander Pal Chowdhary of the Department of Botany, Dr Pritam Singh of the Department of Punjabi and Dr Meghna Dhar of the Department of Library Science, were elected unopposed for the post of President, Secretary, Joint Secretary and Treasurer, respectively.
The contest was held only for the post of Vice-President in which Dr Vijay Sehgal defeated his opponent by a margin of 86 votes.
Prof S K Pandita was the election commissioner and the new team has been elected for the term 2019-21.
