JAMMU, Apr 5: Prof Baidyanath Labh, Head Department of Buddhist Studies, University of Jammu, has been nominated by the Government of India as a Member of the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR), one of the pioneer research oriented agency in the field of History at higher educational level, for the next three years (2015-18).
Prof Labh –a well recognized international scholar in the Buddhist world, is the only Indian associated with an International Project on Common Buddhist Texts carried jointly by the Government of Thailand and Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Bangkok. Besides this, in his academic credentials he has edited over 16 books and contributed over 80 research papers which have been published in the reputed journals at national and international levels.
