Prof Ishar felicitates young scientist award winners

JAMMU, Oct 30: Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu, felicitated the young faculty members of Jammu University for bringing laurels to the institution on being conferred with the young scientist award.
It may be recalled that three Jammu University faculty members Dr Monica Gupta, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Dr Parvinder Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology and Dr Yudhbir Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Geology were conferred with prestigious young scientist award at 8th JK Science Congress hosted by Kashmir University recently. The awards were presented to the young scientists by Vice-President of India, M Hamid Ansari.
Prof Ishar complimented the young scientists and their teachers/guides and hoped that they would continue to work with all the more vigour and enthusiasm in their respective areas of research.
Terming research the strongest pillar in the University academic system, Prof Ishar also highlighted various new initiatives that Jammu University is undertaking with regard to infrastructure development and empirical new research projects.
Among others Prof Rekha Chaudhary, Dean Research Studies, Prof Naresh Padha, Registrar and Jai Kumar Sharma, OSD to Vice Chancellor were also present on the occasion.
