JAMMU, Oct 17: Former Union Minister, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta has deplored the violence and rumours being spread over the issue of braid cutting of the fair sex and asked the law and order authorities to come out with the facts about their findings and action taken against those who are employing evil designs for their nefarious ends.
Expressing surprise over the moves of the separatists and their likes in other outfits, Prof. Gupta said the way in which the issue is being aired itself speaks volumes.
The fundamentalists having failed to enforce their “dress code” are now using this poly, as also there is feeling that the boggy is being raised to divert the attention of the authorities from terrorists to the issue of braid chopping, he said and added that the manner in which the rumours are being spread and violent protests are being planned clearly indicate the intentions working behind the scene.
The involvement of the anti national elements is quite evident that they are resorting to thrashing of innocent people especially the visitors from other parts is a part of the game to harm the economy of the State, moreso, the earnings of the common people whose bread and butter is linked with the tourism of the Valley. Since disruptive elements have already destroyed so many years by enforcing Hartal’ what is called as “protests.”
As far as superstitions are concerned , this had been a part of the life since long. Sometimes there was the problem which was called about the evil of Kale Kachhe wale being active and sometime at places that some widows had taken away the heart resulting in the sudden death of a person. And the anti social elements had been humiliating the poor widows.
Prof Gupta also recalled that in the past times when the people were ignorant about the problem of diabetes, the affected persons where treated by MASSANS and WIZARDS on the plea that some evil persons had mixed JARRIAN with the meals of the ailing persons.
He said that the authorities should take stern action against the rumour mongers as also against the operators of violence as measures to check the fear psychosis.
