JAMMU, Aug 31: BJP State spokesperson, Prof. Virender Gupta strongly condemned the statement of senior Congress leader & former JKPCC President Saif-ud-Din Soz advocating for restoring 1953 position and simultaneously pleading for implementation of four point formula as suggested by former Pakistan president “Pervez Musharraf or Manmohan Singh-Musharraf as a solution to Kashmir issue.
He also ridiculed Soz statement that fight against terrorism should be fought democratically and deliberation should be held with all the stakeholders including the separatists and Hurriyat leaders as well as giving due respect to Hurriyat leadership. He said that challenge of militancy and terrorism that too sponsored by foreign country as an instrument to wage proxy war cannot be met by democratic means and by holding negotiations and those who are engaged in breaking the country cannot be respected.
Prof. Virender Gupta was also critical of Ghulam Nabi Azad claim that all the wisdom to resolve Jammu and Kashmir issue lies with him and his assertion that “so for I don’t see a single initiative which is taken by the Government and all credit goes to opposition for all the initiatives taken to bring back normalcy in Kashmir”. He asked Azad that what was Congress doing when it was in power in the State and at the Centre? Why did he fail to control the situation in 2008 and when circumstances compelled him to resign as Chief Minister of the State and why did the situation in J&K took ugly turn during Congress regime in 1990 and 2010?
He said the pre-1953 position and four point Musharraf-Manmohan Singh formula as being suggested by Soz would not be acceptable to the majority population of the State and warned that these proposals of Congress party or NC will be dangerous for the integrity of the country and break Jammu and Kashmir State into different political units. He said that people of Jammu region and that of Ladakh are opposed to, such like solution and will resist vigorously and violently to any such move.
