Prof Gupta admitted in ICU

JAMMU, Mar 9: Three-time MP from Doda Lok Sabha constituency, former Union Minister of State for Defence and senior BJP leader, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, was today shifted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu after he suffered from drowsiness and uneasiness.
According to hospital sources, the family members of former Minister, who is about 80-85 years old, this morning rushed him to GMCH after he complained of uneasiness and drowsiness at his residence.
Sources said when the BJP leader was shifted to GMCH, his blood pressure was fluctuating. They said that after checkup by senior doctors of the hospital and conducting required diagnostic tests, the senior BJP leader was then shifted to ICU of new emergency of the hospital, where his condition was stated to be stable.
When contacted, Medical Superintendent, GMCH, Dr Ravinder Ratanpal, said the BJP leader is in ICU under doctors’ observation. He said that the former State BJP president was not well in the morning when he reached the hospital, as he was suffering from uneasiness and drowsiness with his blood pressure fluctuating but now he is stable and senior doctors are monitoring his condition.
Meanwhile, many State BJP leaders including Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta, State president, Sat Sharma and MLA East, Rajesh Gupta reached the hospital and enquired about the condition of the ailing former MLA.
