KATHUA, Nov 21: The paper as well as raw material worth lakhs of rupees was damaged after the production yard of Nicer Paper Mill caught fire this afternoon.
According to reports the cause of fire was short circuit and soon the entire production yard was engulfed by the fire. The authorities of the mill however put the Inter fire Control System in operation to control the blaze to restrict the fire from spreading to other areas of the mill.
Later three fire tenders were also pressed into service and fire was brought under control. The mill management however said that the loss is yet to be ascertained as both paper as well as raw material gutted in the fire. However no loss of life was reported from the area and all workers of the mill are safe.
