Process set into motion for election of Mahajan Sabha

JAMMU, June 2:  The Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha has set into motion the process for election of its new president as tenure of the incumbent, Vinod Kumar Gupta, is expiring.
A formal election notification is being issued today and if no consensus is made over the aspirant candidates, during the working committee meeting on June 26, polling shall be held on July 17.
This was informed by O P Gupta, chief election commissioner for the Sabha election, while talking to media persons, here today.
” Nomination forms shall be issued from June 6 to 12 while last date for receipt of duly filled nomination forms, concealed in envelope, shall be June 15 upto 2 p.m,” he said and added that scrutiny of  nomination forms shall be exercised  on June 16, in the presence of proposers and seconders.
For the purpose of finding out consensus candidate, out of the aspirants, working committee meeting will be held on June 26 while last date for withdrawal of nomination forms will be June 28.
“If necessary, the final date for the conduct of polling shall be July 17, from 10 a.m to 5 p.m,” said O P Gupta, who was accompanied by election commissioners Pawan Kumar Gupta, Rajesh Choudhary and Kishore Gupta besides Legal Advisor Rajesh Maini and secretary Krishan Lal Gupta.
