Priyanka Gandhi visits famous Hanuman temple

SHIMLA, May 13:
As her party headed for a decisive win in the Karnataka Assembly polls, senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra visited the famous Hanuman temple at Jakhoo here and performed puja on Saturday.
Priyanka Gandhi reached the temple in the morning and stayed there for about 15 minutes.
Clad in a traditional salwar-kamij and head covered with a chunni, the AICC general secretary performed ‘aarti’ and prayed for the wellbeing of the people of Karnataka and the country.
Priyanka Gandhi arrived in Shimla on Friday, along with her mother and former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, on a private visit. They were welcomed by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu at Kalyani helipad in the Chhabra suburb of the city. The Chief Minister presented Sonia Gandhi a memoir of traditional music instruments.
They are staying at Priyanka Gandhi’s Vadra house in Chhabra, near the Rashtrapati Niwas “The Retreat”. The house, which is a blend of English and hill architecture, has grey slate roofs and is located amidst serene surroundings with thick deodar forests in the vicinity.
The Congress appeared poised to win the Karnataka polls, ousting the BJP from its only southern perch.
It was winning or leading in 136 of the 224 assembly seats in the state, comfortably over the magic number of 113, according to latest trends on the Election Commission website. (PTI)
