Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s entry into politics has come in the wake of BSP-SP alliance in Uttar Pradesh. As Congress was left out of the alliance, it had to devise a way which could ensure its presence in this big State. Had Congress forged an alliance, Priyanka may not have joined the party hurriedly.
Whether Priyanka succeeds in her mission as thought by the Congress party, no one can really say at this time. If Congress wants to remain relevant in UP politics, Congress has to win a substantial number of seats. It is not easy for Priyanka to conquer UP being a Ghandi scion, she has to encounter many hurdles before she may emerge victorious. The Congress party has played its Trump card, only time will tell whether the decision was good or bad.
