JAMMU, Feb 5: Continuing their efforts for restoration, renovation and development of neglected heritage sites including temples of Jammu, Former Minister & spokesperson, BJP, Priya Sethi along with party State general secretary, Yudhvir Sethi today visited Ram Talai Mandir, Jullkha Mohalla Jammu East and got works worth Rs 20 lakh started by way of construction of canopies, parks and paths at the site.
Jugal Dogra, Prabhari BJP Jammu district, its district president and Chairman Sanitary Committee, JMC, Baldev Singh Billoria, Corporators Jagdesh Sharma, Anil Masoom, Ward pradhan, Shashi Sapolia along with officials of Tourism Department also accompanied them and informed that this was second phase of Rs 80 lakh project which will completely transform the site which in turn will attract more and more tourists to the site. Speaking on the occasion, Priya Sethi said that after development the area the temple premises will also be visited by local population.
She said BJP has sincere intentions to give people their due and develop State for the welfare of people. She added that once this second phase is completed the temple and its surroundings will become aesthetically beautiful and worth visiting for the tourists. She also spoke to the people of the area and requested them to maintain the park and temple so that it is not spoiled.
Yudhvir Sethi, while speaking to those present on the occasion, said that even the main entrance, if the temple will be restored in its original form so that heritage structures are maintained at all costs. He said that these funds have been provided by former Minister, Priya Sethi from her Constituency Development Funds and that’s why she intends to monitor the work herself as well. Jugal Dogra appreciated the initative of former MLA and her intention to monitor work herself.
Baldev Singh Billoria visited the old ancient pond of Dogra rulers which is in the vicinity there & assured that special care will be taken for its development by the JMC.
Earlier these leaders went around the temple site and laid foundation for second phase of development project and asked the authorities present there, to complete the project within stipulated timeframe and dedicated same to the general public for their use.
