Priya, Yudhvir hold public interaction

JAMMU, Mar 28: Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Department of Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks Priya Sethi and State vice-president BJP-Yudhvir Sethi today convened a public meeting at Old City Jammu and held interactions with the residents of the area.
Addressing the gathering, both urged the people to come together and participate in large numbers in the PM’s mega rally to be held on April 02 at Udhampur.
Priya Sethi reiterating government’s commitment towards ensuring socio-economic development of the region informed that the Centre has approved Rs 500 crore to implement tourism projects in Jammu and Kashmir out of which Rs 280 crore have been released exclusively for Jammu region. Multiple projects that have been launched include revamped Jammu Bus Stand and parking lot projects, Artificial Lake project, Maharaja Hari Singh Park development, three Ropeway Projects in Jammu region, border tourism development initiatives at Suchetgarh, besides improved road connectivity, reinforced power infra and sanitation, she added.
She further said that the forthcoming Jammu Mahotsav – 2017 will reinforce Jammu position as an independent and attractive tourist destination in the national and international tourist circuits and help give the necessary economic boost to the local communities and small traders.
Elaborating on various measures taken in the Education Sector, the Minister said that introduction of IIT, IIM, IIMC in the city, the students of the region will be able to avail more education and career opportunities. Minister further said that further efforts are also being made to attain special reservations for local students in these institutions.
Besides skill development initiatives like the Food Craft Institute, women empowerment initiatives like free education in the State for girl child, Ladli Beti Scheme, etc have also been introduced in the State.
While speaking on the occasion, Yudhvir Sethi said that multiple centrally and State sponsored schemes have been launched for the upliftment of the economically weaker sections of the society.
He urged people to participate in large numbers in PM’s rally on April 02 at Udhampur where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a public rally in Udhampur district on April 2 after dedicating to the nation ‘Nashri Tunnel’, India’s longest road-tunnel, built on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
Yudhvir Sethi further said that two years of PDP-BJP are the golden years in the political history of the State and the projects which present Government is giving to Jammu will boost the economy of the area.
Yudhvir said that PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah herald the beginning of a new era in which grass root level leadership has come to dominate the Indian politics.
