JAMMU, Aug 14: Ten day long spoken Sanskrit workshop concluded at Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Sri Ranbir Campus, Kot Bhalwal, today.
Minister of State for Education, Information, and Culture Priya Sethi was chief guest at the conclusion ceremony.
More than 30 students of different States participated in the workshop.
Stressing on promoting the ancient language, the Minister said that treasure house of ancient Indian knowledge has been written in the classical Sanskrit language and to understand and decipher the age old books written by great Indian philosophers knowledge of Sanskrit is a must.
She said that the language would be promoted among the students in the schools so that the younger generations come to know about the golden and rich ancient history.
She said developed countries have already started showing interest in the ancient language and more and more research is being done in this field.
“Recent studies have shown the importance Sanskrit can play in the field of IT as it has been considered to the best language for writing computer programmes and it find its use in Artificial Intelligence also,” she added.
Organising Secretary, Sanskrit Bharati Dilip Chandravanshi was guest of honour on the occasion.
North India Organising Secretary, Sanskrit Bharati Partap Singh was chief speaker and Principal Prof. Ramanuja Devanathan presided over the function.
Earlier, Vaidic Mangalacharana was presented by Dr. D. Dayanatha.
Later, certificates were also distributed among the participants of the workshop.
