JAMMU, Oct 18: Minister of State for Education, Information and Culture Priya Sethi today conducted inspection of undergoing works at Government Girls High School, Gandhi Nagar.
Two major projects are under construction in the school premises. A Teachers Bhawan and an auditorium have been sanctioned and work is underway.
While inspecting the site, Priya called upon the executing agencies to speed up pace of the work and directed for time line completion of the undertaken works. She said the projects are important and due care should be taken to complete the works within the time frame, besides ensuring high quality standards in work execution.
She said the Government has sanctioned the Teachers Bhawan keeping in view the hardships faced by the teaching fraternity while visiting the city due to different official engagements and once completed residential accommodation can also be provided to visiting staff in the building.
“A strong need was also felt for good auditorium as from time to time different functions and workshops are to be conducted for students as well as teachers and fully equipped auditorium would solve the problem,”, she added.
The Minister stressed on gearing up men and machinery so as that the prestigious projects can be completed and handed over to the teachers and students at the earliest.
CEO, Jammu Joginder Sudan, engineers of Housing Board and other senior officers were present during the visit.
