UDHAMPUR, Oct 17: To discuss the problems triggered for the private schools due to the mushroom growth of pre primary, toddlers, franchisee and unrecognized schools, a meeting of J&K Private Schools Association office bearers of district Udhampur was organized by R P Sharma, District President, here today.
The meet observed that out of 737 private schools in Udhampur, only 270 were recognized while others are operating unauthorizedly, which have now become big challenge for all those who are running private schools after fulfilling all norms.
General Secretary of JKPSA Jammu, Ajay Gupta was special invitee in the meeting and he briefed the members that clear cut instructions are laid for the recognition of pre primary schools (Pre Nursery / Nursery and KG) in sub section (iv) of section (b) of item 2 and in sub section (a) of section 1 of item 6 of SRO123 of March 18, 2010.
“No one can run any of the private school without recognition but operators/owners of these illegal schools have their hand in glove with the Zonal Education Officers/Chief Education Officers,” he said, adding that in most of the cases, Education Department has failed even to provide recognition to the schools which were granted affiliation in 2019 by JKBOSE and also to all such schools which have applied after fulfilling all types of formalities for extension / up gradation / recognition in 2021.
The Association alleged that entire educational system to streamline the working of private schools has collapsed in JKUT.
Ajay Gupta appealed to the Lieutenant Governor to intervene into the defunct education system of JKUT for survival of small private school owners who are solely dependent on this venture and are rendering yeomen services after charging meager amount.
Those, who attended the meeting, included Vineet Gupta, Siddherath Shamker, Parshant Salaria, Ankush Verma, Siddheshwar Sadotra, Kuldeep Singh, Vijay Kumar, Vishal Gupta, Abhishek O Thomas, Rakesh Gupta, Rajesh Modi, Manoj Sharma, Pankaj Kerni and others.
