JAMMU, Mar 1: A meeting of Implementation Committees regarding the commencement of DNB courses in the State was held today under the chairmanship of Atal Duloo, Principal Secretary to Government, Health & Medical Education Department, J&K, in the Committee Room of Civil Secretariat.
Bhupinder Kumar, Mission Director NHM, J&K, Principal GMC Jammu, Director Health Services, Jammu, Chief Medical Officers and Medical Superintendents of identified districts of Jammu Division were present in the meeting. Principal GMC Srinagar, Director Health Services, Kashmir, Chief Medical Officers and Medical Superintendents of identified districts of Kashmir Division were connected through video conference.
In the meeting, Principal Secretary informed that 8 District Hospitals namely District Hospital (DH) Gandhi Nagar Jammu, DH Poonch, DH Ganderbal, DH Leh, DH Pulwama, and DH Kulgam have been identified to start DNB courses in various specialties. He said that the selected District Hospitals shall start the process of registration on the NBE portal for identified specialties within the timeline decided by the State.
He requested the officers of selected districts to follow the Standard Operating Protocols and processes in letter and spirit for maintaining quality at public health facilities which will in turn help the identified District Hospitals to attain certification under Quality Assurance.
Pertinent to mention that approximately 50 lakh population is expected to be benefited with the DNB Project in the State. Besides their own population, the improved facilities in these districts can effectively cater to the population of adjoining districts till they are also upgraded in the future.
National Health Mission, J&K shall support the District Hospitals in terms of manpower and resources required for applying for DNB courses in various specialties.
