JAMMU, Dec 6: Principal Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, Dr. Shashi Sudan, today paid a visit to the designated COVID Hospital, Gandhi Nagar where she conducted a detailed inspection of upgraded facilities available for COVID positive patients.
Administrator, Associated Hospitals, Jammu, Nagendra Singh Jamwal; Medical Superintendent COVID Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, Dr Arun Sharma and other officers accompanied her during the visit.
The Principal directed the concerned authorities to increase the level of preparedness and intensify the critical care facilities at the COVID hospital. She said that as Gandhi Nagar is a designated COVID tertiary care hospital, ‘We need to put all things in proper place so that best treatment is made available to the patients.’
She asked for keeping everything in place to attend patients with due medical care. “We have to optimise our available resources and keep on stepping up our COVID care facilities from time to time,” she said.
Dr Sudan was very particular about the isolation and other critical care facilities at the hospital and directed the authorities to keep 18 critical care beds ready in all respects to meet any exigency.
Emphasising for oxygenation of all the visiting needy patients, she directed the officers to keep a buffer stock of 1000 oxygen cylinders, besides other critical care equipment like cardinal monitors and ventilators. She assured the hospital administration of every kind of support.
During the visit, the Principal took a round of the hospital and inspected the facilities for the COVID patients and other facilities being made available at the hospital.
The Principal also inspected the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Intensive Care Units of the hospital.
Later, the Principal shared some important observations with the officers for provisioning better and improved healthcare to the patients recovering from COVID pandemic at the hospital.
