Jammu, Feb 28: Principal GMC, Dr. Sunanda Raina had an interactive session with the PG/UG Students staying in the Boys hostels of GMC, Jammu. All PG/ UG students participated.
The meeting was also attended by senior Faculty members including Dr. Narinder Sharma, Dr. Vijay Kundal, Dr. Zahoor, Dr. Abdul Ghani, Dr. Kailash Singh, Dr.Farooq Butt and Chief provost Hostels Dr. Dev Raj Dogra and wardens Dr. Mrityunjay and Dr. Rakesh Behal.
The students interacted with the Principal and Faculty Members. The students appreciated this step from the Principal and Faculty Members.
They said that the atmosphere in the hostels is cordial and condemned the attempts of some people to paint a false picture in the print and social media.They said that this was the handiwork of some people who are trying to create atmosphere of fear for their vested interests and regarding this they have already spoken with the doctors in Kashmir Valley and requested them to confirm the facts first before issuing any statements.
The Principal asked the students to remain united and rise above regionalism and religion and work unitedly for the betterment of the people of the State and the Nation. She asked the students to refrain from posting anything negative on the social media and if anybody does any anti-national or anti social activity to vitiate the cordial atmosphere in the hostels, strict action shall be taken against him.
She exhorted the students to celebrated all festivals together and live as brothers and as sons of this great nation.
Further students were informed that Principal, Guides, HoDs, Wardens and all Faculty Members are thier guardians and they are free to confide with anyone regarding any issues. They appreciated the steps taken by the Principal GMC, Jammu for improvement of the conditions of the hostels and said that it is for the first time after decades that serious efforts to improve the infrastructure in the hostels is being made.
They expressed happiness over the food being served in the Hostel Mess and appreciated the steps being taken for overall improvement of the hostels.
Principal Dr. Sunanda Raina assured the students that CCTV cameras are already being installed. More security personnel have been posted and the construction work in the Hostels is being done in a time bound manner. The sports Complex and the sports ground shall shortly be made operational.
Further the rooms in the new hostel block shall also be allotted shortly, she said.
