Prime conspirator of Nabha Jail attack arrested in UP

LUCKNOW: In a breakthrough into the Nabha Jail attack in Punjab this morning after which six  Khalistani terrorist escaped, Uttar Pradesh Police has managed to arrest the prime conspirator Parminder alias Pammi from Kairana Police Station in Shamli district of western UP this evening.    Parminder was the kingpin in the attack this morning at the Nabha Jail in Punjab.

Parminder  along with Prema, Harry, Gurmeet Shekho and his two brothers were involved in the crime. Additional director General of Police (Law and Order) Daljeet Choudhury told UNI here tonight that Parminder was arrested along with the SUV Toyota Fortuner used in the attack in Kairana area of Shamli district during checking.

Choudhury confirmed that during interrogation, Parminder disclosed about the involvement of Prema, Harry, Gurmeet Shekho and his two brothers. UP police has recovered one SLR, three rifles and huge quantity of cartridges from the seized vehicle. The others are yet to be arrested along with the escaped terrorists.

There are reports that they could be in Panipat or Karnal and were trying to escape to Nepal. The ADG also said that they are investigating whether there is an involvement of Pakistan ISI in the attack or not.

Parminder had also escaped from Punjab Jail in March last after he was serving life term in a murder conviction. Choudhury said after they took away the terrorists from the jail, Parminder got separated from them and he came to Shamli where he was nabbed. (AGENCIES)
